December, 2008 Successful Legal Malpractice DefenseBob Hemley and Norman Williams have successfully defended a prominent law firm against charges of fraud on the Court arising from the firm's representation of a large resort in a collection case against a promoter who had been found to have defrauded the resort. After a finding of fraud on the Court had been made by the United States District Court, Mr. Hemley and Mr. Williams intervened, and reversed the finding on appeal to the United States Court of Appeals. Matthew B. Byrne and Ross A. Feldmann Obtain Multi-Million Dollar JudgmentMatthew B. Byrne and Ross A. Feldmann obtained a $7.4 million judgment on a personal guaranty in the United States District Court of Vermont. Messrs. Byrne and Feldmann had previously replevied a large piece of machinery and are continuing to pursue recovery against other parties. |
