Another Victory for the First Amendment

Robert B. Hemley and Matthew B. Byrne obtained access to criminal arrest records from the Bennington Superior Court, Criminal Division for the Rutland Herald. Reporters from the Rutland Herald had requested access to these records after Judge Nancy Corsones had determined that there was probable cause for an arrest. The reporters had met initial resistance from the Court staff. After Gravel & Shea argued on behalf of the Rutland Herald, Judge Corsones ordered their release.
