Bio
David Williams has practiced law since 1985 and joined Gravel & Shea in January 2023. He held his first position at the New York Legal Society’s criminal appeals bureau. After moving to Vermont in 1988, David worked at the Office of the Defender General with a focus on drug cases in the state’s trial and appellate courts prior to entering private practice in St. Johnsbury in 1991. He has represented hundreds of clients in Federal and State criminal defense and civil litigation cases. He has also argued appeals in the Vermont Supreme Court, the New York Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
In David’s criminal law practice, he has an extensive track record of favorable outcomes for his clients, including protection and preservation of his clients’ freedom and constitutional rights. He is dedicated to vigorously advocating for protection of his clients’ rights.
David has extensive civil litigation experience. In his complex civil litigation, personal injury, and wrongful death practice, he has a distinguished reputation for aggressive advocacy and a track record of significant monetary results.
